Why salt water can damage your device faster ?

A customer came to our shop with his Huawei Nova 3i that has been recently dropped in sea. Our technician were worried because sea water can damage your smart device instantaniously. The back of the screen was covered with white powders, which is the sea water after being dried. Lucky for him, his phone was completely fine apart from his screen. We replaced his screen within 30 minutes and he was really glad to see his phone working again.
